Strohhaus | Felix Jerusalem

strohhaus1.jpg

The Swiss architect Felix Jerusalem designed this house in Eschenz, Switzerland that is prefabricated and sustainable. To insulate it, he used straw in a form of strawboard panels which are covered by a translucent green facade that reveal it. He used three different types of the panels: lightweight for the sound and thermal insulation, middle weight for interior walls and heavy panels for the structure. Being elevated on piers, the house has a very light footstep.
